Clothing and the concept of being "organic" is a complex combination with many definitions.
To Only the beginning being organic means ensuring that the clothes and products we offer our customers can have a clear conscience with regards to:
1) Our products are not harmful to human skin.
2) Our products have been produced under environmentally sound conditions.
3) The human efforts put into the production of our clothes have not compromised the safety or human rights of the people involved.
Organic cotton farming and textile production is healthier and more sustainable for our environment, the people working the lands and factories as well as the end consumer.
Conventional cotton agriculture is one of the most polluting crops in the world today: Cotton accounts for only 2,4% of land in world agriculture, yet it accounts for 24% of world pesticide consumption.
Organic production of textiles, incl. colouring, wastage etc. also ensures that highly dangerous chemicals, traditionally used in the industry, such as Chlorine, heavy metals, AZO colours etc. are prohibited.
The famous nursing pads from LANAcare are made from 100% pure organic, undyed merino wool.

In Only the beginning most of our collection which isn't labelled organic is labelled Oeko-tex Standard 100 which is your guarantee that the product doesn't contain any harmful substances.
Oeko-tex Standard (richly represented in Only the beginning)
The Oeko-Tex Standard is an international testing and certification system for textiles.
The standard limits the appearance of certain harmful chemicals in the product.
Responsible for the standard is the Oeko-Tex Association, which has branch offices in more than 40 countries worldwide.
The Oeko-tex Standard cannot be considered a true environmental label since it is not concerned with environmental impacts.
On the other hand the label indirectly controls certain impacts since the limits of chemicals – for example, pesticides - cannot be achieved if the actual pesticides are used.
Use it as your guarantee that the product does not contain any harmful substances.
Clothes are ready to wear with no washing needed before the first wear.
Natural baby and children’s bodily fluids such as saliva and sweat will not react with any of the dyes used.
