LANACare has developed a lanolin soap that washes and brings new lanolin to the wool. Lanolin soap contains 20% lanolin absolutely pure and hypoallergenic.
How To Care of your wool: Wash untreated wool as seldom as possible. Hang your wool outdoors sometimes. Just remember wool can absorb 40% of its weight without feeling wet. Therefore it is important to use the radiator to dry the wool if you know the wool contains moisture e.g. nursing pads or diaper covers. It is not enough to air-dry.
Washing instruction : When you want to wash your wool clothing : Place the wool in lukewarm water with hair shampoo or Lanolin soap & it softens the water and does not degrease the wool. But use LANACare Lanolin soap if the wool needs to be replenished and for nursing pads/diaper covers, because the lanolin will be used in contact with milk/urine. The pads or covers become denser with the lanolin. Let the wool soak in water for 5-10 minute and stir very carefully. Do not make heavy stirring or agitating with the wool & it will make the wool stiff. Rinse in lukewarm water (NEVER use cold water because it can shock the wool fibers, resulting in shrinkage of the wool) Place or roll the wool into a towel, pressing out the excess water. Give the wool a quick, brisk shake. Lay them to dry over a mild heat source.
Sterilization of your nursing pads (e.g. by yeast infection) When dry - gently rub the stiffened area to break up the milk particles Place the pads in a pot with lukewarm water. Gradually bring the water, with pads, to a gentle boil. Let boil for 10 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat. Do not remove pads from the water. Let the water with the pads cool to lukewarm. Add 1 tblsp lanolin soap and stir gently & let it soak for 10 minutes. Rinse in lukewarm water Press out the water. Lay them to dry over a mild heat source.
